Design Process
Initial consultation
On your invitation, I will visit you, in order to establish what you hope to accomplish in your garden and how you see yourself using the space, and to discuss your requirements before arriving at a cost for the design. There is no charge or obligation for this visit..
Detailed site visit
Should you decide to accept the quotation, I will revisit your garden and undertake a site survey, taking detailed measurements and photographs. I will assess any specific problems such as noise or lack of privacy. Following the survey, I will produce two or three preliminary designs based on your requirements, which I will present to you in a digital 3D format on my laptop. 3D models allow you to see the design from all angles and give a realistic idea of how your garden will actually look, once completed. This visit also provides the opportunity to discuss ideas for the garden with you, in much more specific detail than at the initial consultation, including choice of paving and garden features, to help arrive at a decision about landscaping materials. At this stage we can make any necessary changes to the design that you decide to adopt.
Master Plan
With the design approved by you, I will draw up a brief and a materials list for contractors to quote to. Your chosen contractor will be provided with a scale plan with which to work, so the garden is built to the exact design. The plan will not include specific planting details. For this you will need a separate planting plan. Click image on left to learn more
Project monitoring
I do not undertake construction of the garden, but will provide you with contacts for reputable local landscape companies and liaise with your chosen contractor at all stages of work, to ensure that you are happy with the final result.
