Builders Rubble to Dream Garden
A new house on the Alconbury Weald development in Cambridgeshire had the usual utilitarian paving, tiny patio and weedy turf, which the clients were keen to change. The gate at the far end of the garden dictated the inclusion of a path across the garden leading to the back door. This needed to be practical and direct, without obviously chopping the garden in two. A large patio and raised bed seating area were other requests. There was a space down the side of the house by the back door, which was just wide enough for a small sunny seating area, which should become a secret secluded retreat when the plants grow up around it.
